Compact terms for seeing small object behavior clearly.
Ugayi uses plain vocabulary because a tiny problem becomes easier to improve once it can be named. These terms are not technical standards. They are working words for describing how an object lands, moves, waits, returns, and asks for attention in a real room.
Shim
A thin helper inserted under or behind an object to change height, angle, pressure, or sound.
Landing
The first surface an object naturally reaches after use, whether or not it was planned.
Quiet edge
A boundary that keeps one routine from spilling into another without needing a sign.
Return cue
A visible or tactile reminder that makes putting an item back feel obvious.
Soft stop
A small material change that stops impact, sliding, or overtravel without adding a new mechanism.
Working gap
The space an object needs around it so the hand can use and return it without negotiation.
Friction note
A short record of the repeated problem, the temporary test, and what changed afterward.
One-week proof
A trial period long enough to include hurry, fatigue, and ordinary variation.
